He is on the CWGC  site as H McCluskey.
Buried  Brown's Road Military Cemetery, Festubert.
Not that helps you in your search.

He is also on "A street near you" as Private McCluskey.
Again, no additional information.

An old post on family for reference:  https://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php?topic=771244.0

SNWM has him under McClusky, with place of birth noted as Dalziel, Lanarkshire.

Not seeing his name on either Motherwell or Lochgelly war memorials. A brother, Patrick, is on the Lochgelly memorial.

Looks like his 'death penny' came up for sale...

Update....he is on Lochgelly memorial: Indexed as Hugh McLuskie. McLuskie/McLuskey.
see https://lochgellywm.wordpress.com/m/, with photo of him from Dundee Courier:

Quote
.    Dundee Courier 5th January 1915.

Information has been received that Private Hugh McLuskie, Royal Scots, 28 Hunter Street, Lochgelly, was killed in action on the 12th December. Private McLuskie whose photo we reproduce was only 21 years of age, and came to France with the Indian Expeditionary Force.

The webpage also has UK Registers of Soldiers Effects entry for Hugh, tying him with the parents you listed above.

Thanks very much to both...

Scotmum,

An extra thanks, you've killed 2 birds with 1 stone as brother Patrick was next on my list of loose ends which you've kindly tied up!

I decided yesterday to check them out as I had a feeling both were killed in WW1 but needed confirmation.

It's fantastic to have a photo too, a real rarity in my family tree!  :)

The earlier link you posted was a different request, for the father John who I now have a death record for.
