Christopher SMITH/Jane TIPPLE
« on: Tuesday 20 April 21 23:47 BST (UK) »
Hello,

I am seeking any info on Christopher SMITH and his wife Jane TIPPLE, I know of one son for them, Thomas born around 1775, London, Middlesex, England.

No other info available on either of them, any more on Christopher would be an added bonus.

Thank you

Cienna

They married at St Andrew, Norwich  - 26 January 1777, by Banns.  Both single, both made their mark.

There are a number of Smith children with parents Christopher and Jane baptised in Norwich after the 1777 marriage, which are possibly theirs. One is a William Tipple Smith in 1781, who I would think is definitely theirs.

I have found several Non conformist baptisms in London to a Christopher and Jane Smith, earliest so far is Judith in 1772. I suspect parents might be Christopher Smith and Jane Sidgwick who married at St Annes Soho on 23 Jan 1769

In your original post you say Thomas b 1775 in London was also their son. How sure are you of that, given it was before they married and in a completely different location.
Are you actually looking for Thomas Smith's parents or William Tipple Smith's parents?

Thank you LizzieL, I am working on the SMITH family and I am trying to find parents and children for Christopher SMITH, he married Jane TIPPLE,

I am helping an elderly man trace his family and the info was supplied by him, I am not having much luck, he assures me William Tipple SMITH born 1775 is their son, I am looking for siblings to him, info was passed to him by his mother.

I think I will be just happy to give him what I have.

Thank you for you reply.

Cienna.
