George Valentine to date for me please. Scottish Victorian
« on: Wednesday 21 April 21 03:25 BST (UK) »
Thanks to everyone who helped me previously to date a photo of George Valentine, we think this next photograph may be the same person.

If anyone can give an approximate date please, also the woman appears to be wearing a cap of some kind... but it looks more like a band than the lace cap worn indoors.

Many thanks Patricia

This looks to be 1860s, it's always best to post the whole photo including the backs.

Agree with the date.
Doesn't look like the same couple.
A nicely composed photo.

I agree with those two photographs and I also believe this gent with the stovepipe hat is George V too, the family group correspond with the children he had plus one grandson, it is the older woman who looks wrong, he only had one wife Jane Gordon, so she probably had a hard life... she outlived George as she lived until 1903, she was born 1817.

Agree that that one looks like the same person too. I'll put it with the other two for comparison.
