Any ideas on the bride's surname?
« on: Wednesday 21 April 21 13:09 BST (UK) »
Anyone fancy having a punt on what my 6 x Great Grandmother's surname was?

Popular opinion is that it starts with a B.

TIA,
Richard

Them's the Banns, what does the corresponding marriage look like?

Or is there a record of Banns in the other parish?

I've looked in the corresponding marriages page and there's no record for some reason. Are the banns usually read in both parishes?

Hi
FindMyPast has it as Bassett
There are some Bassit children baptised in Childerditch 1731-1740 children of John and Elizabeth.
Grace remarries a Henry Box and dies 1800 .Could the witnesses off the two marriages help?

A tree on Ancestry has her surname as Bedal or Biddle.  Born 1759 Dunton died 1820 Aveley.  Birthdate does not fit a 1796 marriage

I admit defeat.  This is a png file; there's an advantage with jpeg files in that faint writing can be enhanced and become legible when changed to a "negative" view, where the writing become white on a black background.

Banns have to be read in the parish church where each of the couples live.  If they live in the same village parish then there will only be banns publicised in one church.
