I did come across this baptism of a William Elliott but not sure if it is the correct one.  Baptism date is just over two weeks from the date of birth that Tdonk supplied.  It is in Hartlepool which is why I am uncertain about it.

The only Hartlepool birth I can find is this one

As you can see, March quarter which would make it too early for Tdonk's William.

Interested to see Ralph Neale, my step grandfather remarried  Violet Elliott in 1932,
Especially as my Grandfather was called Elliott, wonder if this was his ex wife, my grandfather's history is mystery to me as he died the year before I was born.

Have you got the marriage certificate?  That would give the names of father's which would be a start.

They were 'living together' in 1939

My mam was born in 1932, so I'm guessing they got together 1930/1931 ish.
In 1939 they lived in the house I was born in.

I do wonder if Violet Elliott was married to my grandad before Ralph neale, also if so was this a bigamist marriage as in 1939 my grandad is stated as married and my nana as divorced, and they were living together.

Had a look in the papers and Ralph H. T. Neale was granted a decree nisi in November 1931, Ralph was  living at 26 Burleigh Street, Sunderland. May I tactfully add, Mrs Neale had met a Mr. Elliott.

Yes, my mam was born in 1932, Strangely Ralph Neale went on to marry a Violet Elliott, I'm now wondering is this was my grandads 1st wife. And this was the ultimately, the 1st wife swap.
