Derbyshire marriage lookup

Trying to find a marriage between Samuel Godfrey Gaskin bap. 27th March 1815 at South Normanton Derbyshire & spouse Dorothy in Derbyshire abt. 1840. Census returns state she was born in Holloway a few miles south of Matlock. In later years they lived in Brampton, Chesterfield. 1st child Ann Gaskin was born Holloway abt.1841 but again cannot find a baptism. Thanks for any help on this problem.

Is this the family that is Gascoigne  GASCOYNE and other  variants in the census, with a child Ebenezer?

If not can you please give a reference to a census you know is correct?

I see a GASCOE - KNOWLES marriage in 1845, Samuel a widower that looks likely

Hello, Yes, Ebenezer b.1845 is correct, born 2nd child to Samuel & Dorothy. They are in all census returns 1851 to 1891 inclusive Chesterfield. Other children are Ann, Emma, Henrietta, Mary, Alice, Elizabeth, Samuel, & Louisa. Adjer.

Bingo, rosie99 & Mckha489: you got Samuel's marriage & other details correct. Interesting that their daughter Mary married a William Knowles later. A Knowles relative? Also leaves another problem I was not expecting. His 1st marriage???   Many, many thanks for the help to solve a long standing problem. Adjer.
