No parents or sponsors are named

Can anyone explain, please?

Do you have a year of birth for her?

It could mean Conditional Baptism when someone is becoming a Catholic and a previous baptism is not known.

These are transcriptions from the original register. I wondered if it had anything to do with being unable to read the original?

The entry for Ellen Campbell, 1 Mar 1854 states "con Baptism" - no parents/sponsors.

The entry for Ruth Miles, May 27 1857, looks like "Cond Baptism" - although I have also seen "Cont Baptism" elsewhere.

My local Catholic church registers usually don't list parents for such baptisms (usually for a Protestant who is preparing to marry a Catholic). An adult is able to make their own responses for baptism whereas the parents of an infant is doing so on their behalf and the sponsors are to ensure the spiritual upbringing of the child if the parents die.
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!

That is why I asked re the year of birth.
It could be a pre-marriage baptism or, as in some cases, the parents converted along with the child.
Whatever the case a person cannot be baptised twice so in case of uncertainty, there is a conditional baptism.

Eliza was born November 1850 the same month as the baptism
She gave birth to her first child when she was just 15
Was that unusual then?
I wonder was she an orphan?
