Hmm interesting.

I’ve tried finding a death for Robert in Scotland but there’s none that point to it being my Robert and I’ve looked at most of the possible ones and it’s not him.

That could be a possible Robert in Philadelphia, his father was John and mother Mary, leaving in 1888 after his wife died I suppose, I thought he may have went back to Ireland cause it appears his brother went to Scotland, got married, had one child, went back to Ireland, and then came back over to Scotland and then went back again, so thought maybe Robert had done the same. But seems he may have went to America then, and he has the same occupation and the births I’m getting are 1859-1862 so falls into his birth age.

Immigration for a James Elder born Govan address came from 25 New North Queens Street
Belfast
Arrival date 15 November 1909 New York
Going to his Uncle Robert Elder 2612 Collins Road Philadelphia

He is on the 1910 census with Robert and Annie Elder age 26 ( nephew )
He is the son of James and Annie

So it looks like we have the right person

Not found a record yet for Robert   I don't Know if Robert went back to Ireland I think he probably left after the death of his wife
