I am very sorry scotmum. I missed your important message about the marriage of Samuel George Buick to Margaret Rogan. I did purchase the record and his father was also Samuel George Buick, deceased. So, can we believe that the father was deceased as sometimes I have found that not to be true when couples marry. More likely to be the case than the death of George Buick in 1965 in New York.
As for Elizabeth Watterson, I will pursue that record. She was a domestic servant in 1923 and 1927 and this one is a grocer. She came from Belfast but maybe she was visiting her sister and nephew Samuel  George Buick, Jr.(if he is her nephew).

Samuel George Buick, a dispatch clerk, was living at 89 Edinburgh St., Belfast when he married in 1946.
I checked on groni for a death of Samuel George Buick in Ireland between 1922 and 1946 and didn't find one.

A few minor mentions in papers of Samuel jnr, 89 Edinburgh Street, as a Corporation Bus Driver in Belfast in the 1950s.

By a fluke, I found the death of Samuel Buick in Manhattan on Aug 28, 1937. His dob was wrong but I know his parents' names so it is the right person.  Goes to show that you can't always rely on online trees.
Would anyone be able to access an obituary, if there was one. I would like to know if he remarried or who he was living with. I can't find him in 1930. In 1937 he was at 1694 Lexington Ave., Manhattan.

I did see that but was thinking it was not our Samuel, because he always said he was married, in whatever other records that we found. But you never know. His actual dob was 1889 but not as much emphasis was placed on accuracy in those times, and I have been told that some people honestly didn't know exactly when they were born. He emigrated 1922 but that is another figure that changes with different records.
