Mary Jane Green
« on: Monday 26 April 21 07:43 BST (UK) »
Good morning
I wonder if you are able to help please.
I have received the death certificate of my great grandmother Mary Jane Green 1858/1934 it states she died in the Infirmary, Winchfield, Hurst, Winchfield,
I am unable to find any history about why Jane would be in the infirmary as her known home address was Lime Street, Aldershot.
Thank you in anticipation
Regards, Debbie

Welcome to Rootschat Deborah.   :D

What did she die of?  There is a suggestion that it was an infectious diseases hospital although it is not clear what dates this covers.

If she had an infectious disease that may be why she died there.

Hello

Thank you for replying.
Jane died of Cardiac Dilatation and Chronic Asthma. Maybe she had a chest infection which exacerbated her Asthma?
Are they any documents that I would be able to have copies of?

Finding any relevant documents may be difficult.  Below is a link to the National Archives which gives information about Winchfield.

You could try contacting the Hampshire Records Office but I am very doubtful as to whether they hold anything in relation to patients records.

It may just be that the local hospital didn't have room for Mary so she went to Winchfield.

Family history can be a bit of a hit and miss affair I'm afraid.  ::)  You are either able to find lots of information on the relative you are researching or next to nothing.
