Correction to the 1892 marriage James was 48 not 40 and should have said he was a widower.

Thanks Colon and Comberton
Your research is much appreciated. So it appears Ann (aged 51) married James Evans in 1892, a widower with a 6 year old daughter Florence Beatrice Evans. No other children at 1901 or 1911 census. Interesting that James' occupation had changed from Copper and Iron Dash Cover Shaper to Newsagent with wife assisting him in the business. Sign of the times ! It seems the embroidered wall hanging will stay in my family although I would love to know the circumstances surrounding the transfer considering Laura was Ann's much younger step sister and had left UK well before Ann's marriage.
Thanks again

Maybe Ann gifted the embroidered wall hanging to Laura?

You may recall I mentioned two other birth registrations with the mother named as Perason

WOOLDRIDGE, MARY  ANN     PEARSON
GRO Reference: 1842  J Quarter in STOURBRIDGE UNION  Volume 18  Page 500

WOOLDRIDGE, JOHN       PEARSON
GRO Reference: 1844  D Quarter in STOURBRIDGE UNION  Volume 18  Page 470

It seems there was another marriage.

Marriages Dec 1837
WOOLDRIDGE    John        Stourbridge    18   582

However that poses yet another problem as the records on Freebmd & Family Search only notes one Pearson and he was Benjamin, was this history in the making or an error I wonder, or more likely Benjamin married one of the other ladies.

However it does not answer the birth registration’s there are other possible females on the list of marriages in Stourbridge one of whom may have been married before.

Regards Colin
Clarke, Trickett, Orton, Lawless, Norton, Detheridge, Kirby, Goodfellow, Wagstaff, Lowe, etc.
