William Haynes Marriage Brick Wall

Good people, I need help...

William Haynes b1710 St.Briavels, Glos  married an Ann ?   sometime in the period (I`m assuming) 1828-1834 but Ann who?

In the 1841-1871 Census Returns the couple are initially in Minchinhampton then later Rodborough where they raised their 11 children.  Ann passed away in 1874 age 64 (Death Registration Vol 6a Pg 226 Oct-Dec). William remarried in 1878 to an Elizabeth Bowley; he passed away 10 years later in 1888. 

The only source of information that I am missing is that that proves the first marriage ie where, when and Ann`s maiden name. 

Any help or pointers would be greatly appreciated.

Have you looked at the GRO for the births of the children?
The mother’s maiden name is there,
I’ve had a cursory look at two of the children and it seems their Mother’s maiden name might be BEARD. But you should look at them all to confirm

To tie in with those birth registrations there is a marriage between William Haynes and Ann Beard in St Mary, Calne, Wiltshire 4 Sep 1820 both of the parish - witnesses Absalom Flay & Thos Powney

Earlier registered births are also showing mmn Beard.

That marriage is doubtful as their ages are constant with birth years c1811

William junior was baptised with parents William & Ann 9 Aug 1835 at Rodborough, Elizabeth was baptised same place 13 Apr 1834 - both as 'Haines'

Thanks for the input so far. Must admit I missed a trick by not checking the GRO Indexes for their children as that definitely confirms Ann`s maiden name as "Beard".

I had seen the marriage for Haynes/Beard in Calne, Wiltshire for 1820 but had discounted it for the same reason rosie99 did.

I`ve done abit more digging and discovered these possibilities:

Ann Beard Ch 25/7/1810 Bishops Cleeve, Glos - Parents: George Beard and Sarah King

Ann Beard Ch 9/4/1811 Frampton on Severn, Glos - Parents: Nathaniel Beard and Elizabeth

Ann Beard Ch 30/7/1809 Painswick, Glos - Parents: Elizabeth

Ann Beard Ch 2/9/1810 Stroud, Glos - Parents James Beard/Ann Roberts

In the latter`s case there is a Familysearch Family Tree that has her married to a George Verrender on 26 Oct 1835 in Lydney, Glos. Also, she seems to have passed away in 1850 in Stroud Registration District as she doesn`t appear with George Verrender and family in the 1851 Census.

So although I now know for sure that my Ann was "Beard", she could be any one of the above three. Not sure where to go from here there are so few websites that have Pre 1837 records.

Could they have split up or James Ball died 1828-1834.  If it was her she would only have been about 18.

There are also BEARD's who are Non-conformist (on Ancestry) etc.
