Bishops' Transcripts for Longframlington
« on: Wednesday 28 April 21 10:35 BST (UK) »
Hello,

I am trying to trace a line of ancestors who descended from Longframlington, Northumberland. However, I am unable to find the Parish of Longframlington in the Bishops' Transcripts for the Diocese of Durham. Help with locating these would be much appreciated.

Thanks.

Looks like they are at Durham University Library Archives -

Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.

I see JenB has given you the direct link, but I'd already typed this so will post it for the 'how I found it' info

No idea why they aren't in the main list, but I searched the FS catalogue for Long Framlington (with a space as it didn't find anything without a space)

This was the catalogue listing (expand church records)
https://www.rootschat.com/links/01qk6/

and that led me to this set of images for BTs

(which JenB has just given you)

Hopefully something in there for what you are looking for?

Other than that try Free Reg which seems to have some coverage

Morning Boo,

Thank you for showing your search method --- a couple of years ago I too was looking for Longframlington and failed, I ended up having to spend a few hours across at the Archives.

You know me, Jennifer. I'm great believer in firkling till you either find it  or run out of options:-) - as are you!

I do, however, go on a bit . . . some day I may grasp the art of being succinct, but holding breath not an option for that.
:-)
