Richard White b.1790 ish?
« on: Wednesday 28 April 21 16:04 BST (UK) »
Looking for the marriage and death of Richard White in Lincoln or surrounding areas. I believe he was married to an Anne, and have seen the Ancestry trees online. There is a marriage for a Richard White to an Anne Hart 10/8/1813 in Lincoln, but I can't find anything that makes this definitely the one. This would make quite a gap before the birth of his children although there may have been a John White born in 1823-still a big gap though. He had a daughter Betsy/Betsey White born about 1825 (she is my ancestor), and she died in 1878 as Betsy Clarke, having married a Jesse Clarke who was a Hairdresser in Lincoln. Does anyone have access to Parish Records for the area as I cannot find anything online that helps in either Ancestry or Findmypast/FreeREG or Family Search. Thanks.
Regards.

Marriage of Betsy was April 1844 - Mary White was a witness - father Richard White also had occupation of Hair Dresser.

1841 Steep Hill Lincoln has Betsy with probable mother Ann 45 occ Shop Keeper and siblings John 25, William 20, Henry 15 & Charles 14

For reference, I believe this is the family in 1841 in Lincoln (Rosie beat me to it!):

Ann White 48 shopkeeper
John White 25 shoemaker
William White 20
Betsey White 15 (your ancestor)
Henry White 15
Charles White 14

John White was born c.1816 which would fit in with the 1813 marriage date.

Here they are in 1851:

Ann White   58 hairdresser's widow
John White 35 shoemaker
Elizth Clark 4 (grandchild)
Henry Wilson 21 (lodger)
Elizth Parkinson 82 (lodger)

John White was listed as 25 in 1841 and 35 in 1851 so not born 1823 more like 1815
