Dorset Family History Society's Monthly Online Zoom Meeting
« on: Wednesday 28 April 21 17:18 BST (UK) »
Dorset Family History Society is hosting an on-line Zoom talk on Tuesday 18th May 2021 from 7.30pm - 9.15pm (approx.)

ON-LINE SPEAKER IS SIMON WILLS talking on ‘MISSING MARRIAGES’.

Simon Wills returns to us to hopefully help with one of the frustrating things in genealogy, not being able to find an ancestor’s marriage. What can you do if  there seems to be no Parish or civil record of a wedding?

He is a history journalist and genealogist and author of ten books. Many of you may have seen him on the November TV programme of Who Do You Think You Are? featuring Liz Carr (Silent Witness). Simon is an expert advisor to the programme.

Zoom sign-in from 7.15 pm (UK time).

Society Members who have consented to receive information by e-mail will find a meeting invitation link, and how to donate the £3 admission, in the E-News sent about 4 days before the meeting.

Those who do not receive E-News, or who are not Society Members, are welcome to join this meeting and should access the talk by emailing liaison@dorsetfhs.org.uk from the week before. An invitation will be sent out with sign in details of how to sign in to Zoom from 7.15pm on the night for a 7.30 start. The Society would welcome a voluntary contribution of £3 towards the cost via our website.  Thank you.

EVERYONE WELCOME!

We also are pleased to announce the opportunity for everyone to discuss their research and seek some assistance from one of our research volunteers by Zoom or telephone (as our research centre Treetops, located in Poole, will only initially have a limited number of pre arranged appointments when given the official go ahead). Details are also on the website www.dorsetfhs.org.uk under Virtual Research.
