Help please i have got too many Pilchers
« on: Thursday 29 April 21 22:41 BST (UK) »
I am struggling with Ada Alice Pilcher

PILCHER, ADA  ALICE      MMN DEAVERS
GRO Reference: 1875  S Quarter in ASHBY DE LA ZOUCH  Volume 07A  Page 92

i am not sure if i am on the Right track but i found an Ada Ellis pilcher baptised 08/08/1875 Donisthorp

father William pilcher
mother Amelia pilcher

i cant find the marriage and i am unsure of the parents

Ada married Albert bevis the son of Jos bevis and Ann Pilcher. my grandmother was her daughter Maggie Francis Bevis. i think Albert was married before to Rosina as his daughter rose has a different MMN and Ada would have only been 11.

I keep going down the wrong path and think i need a bit of help.

Any help much appreciated.

alex

Similar to the above:-

From the marriage certificate for William, his father was Thomas, deceased.

Thomas Pilcher married Charlotte Shepperd Q1 1840 in Newington District

This is the family in 1851
16, Warwrick Street, Woolwich, Greenwich
Thomas Pitcher Head Married Male 41 1810 Journeyman Baker Rotherfield, Sussex
Charlotte Pitcher Wife Married Female 35 1816 - Kent
Thomas Pitcher Son - Male 7 1844 Scholar -
Ann Pitcher Daughter - Female 5 1846 Scholar Plumstead, Kent
Mary Pitcher Daughter - Female 2 1849 - Woolwich, Kent

I think William's wife died in 1892 and he then married Louisa Powell nee Rogers
Victoria Amelia Pilcher age 43 Q2 1893 Lambeth

Louisa Powell married William Thomas Pilcher Q2 1893 Islington District
Father was Herbert Deavers, Gentleman, on the marriage certificate.

1901 Census - 95, St Bernards Road, East Ham, West Ham,

The 1911 Census has the surname as Powell - 68 Lawrence Avenue Manor Park, East Ham
The children have mmn Rogers on the GRO

David

P.S. I forgot to mention that there is a tree on Ancestry with most of the information, including the certificate for William's marriage.
