Have you looked at the Frederick C Stringall who is living in the Putney area during the years 1950-53 and at 155 Whitfield street (Holborn and St Pancras South Ward, Camden) during the years 1960-1965?

Thanks everyone but the big question is where did he go after 1939??

Did you miss this reply EdCan

There is a also a Frederick C Stringall on electoral registers at 155 Whitfield Street, London W1 in the 1960's.  He is possibly in the Putney area in the 1950's

No I did not forget them and they may well be my guy but I can not figure out how to prove it. Bottom line is that no matter how I show his name or date of birth there does not seem to be a death showing in England prior to 2000.

Where have you looked for a death after mid 1960's when he is possibly on electoral registers.

Online GRO does not have deaths for period 1958 - 1983, freebmd only has some records is not 100% complete for that period.

I can’t see one - perhaps he emigrated?

Is there anyway to check electoral registers after 1965, I wonder, to see if he was at that same address in later years?

How is Edna described on her 2nd marriage? Would it say ‘divorced’?

When I could not find a death I thought that he may have emigrated but those records are hard to find
