Great Excitement
« on: Friday 30 April 21 09:25 BST (UK) »
As I have said a few times, I am researching for a friend at the moment.
One of his ancestors wrote a 3 volume set of a text book.
Today, I was googling around, as you do, as I am a bit (very) stuck with this ancestor.
Anyway - suddenly a new link popped up. To one of the volumes of this text advertising it for sale!  an Original 1st Edition! Published in 1789 and not at all expensive.  Fired off a text to friend, who immediately paid up.

Now we have to wait for the mails from the USA to NZ - but so thrilling!

How exciting :)  Just goes to show that if you are patient, new leads will pop up when you least expect it.

Still hope for my elusive ones ;D

Cheers

I am secretly hoping there is a dedication in the front, but I don't know if they used to do that, and if they did it would no doubt be more likely to be in the 1st Volume.

Nevertheless, I am still pleased.
