Ship Name
« on: Friday 30 April 21 19:49 BST (UK) »
Struggling to figure out the Ship name on the first line.  It would be a Coastguard vessel.  I looked at the Rootsweb Ship List but see nothing that fits this scribble. This document is when he switched to the RN after completing his 10 years with the Coastguard.

Thank you.

The first line reads Coxswain of the Pinnace - it's a petty officer's ranking.

Revenge ?

I must have been hallucinating. When I read your posting it asked for the ships name on the second line. Now it says on the first line  ;D

There's no ship's name on the first line, but between us I think we've answered the question ;D

Pinnace was a small boat carried on large ships, such as warships, what you would call a tender.

Sorry for the confusion the image when uploaded cut off the first line.

But Pinnace makes sense.  I have his complete record and the ships he served but Pinnace is only shown on this document which I assumed was another ship rather than a position.

Thanks again.

See my previous post about a Pinnace, I have amended it because predictive text had changed it to pinnacle.
