Hi Cliffordc

Timothy and Elizabeth's marriage from the parish register on 20 June 1943 available to view here https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/images/marriage_returns/marriages_1943/08782/5174366.pdf

If you are trying to work back, you may want to look for Timothy's birth reg to confirm his mother's name. From his marriage, his father is showing with similar details as his, Timothy Clifford, a wood machinist. Do you have a birth date for your grandfather?

Is it family history that the Cliffords originated from Tralee?

Timothy and Elizabeth came to England you mention. What age was he when he died?

There is this possible birth entry (subject to confirmation on his approx birth year/age at death) https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/images/birth_returns/births_1918/01276/1529334.pdf

I think this is father Timothy's family in 1901 www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1901/Kerry/Tralee_Urban/Caherane_Road/1431687/

Need to confirm though son's age at death/birth etc first...

Monica

Hello,
Just for clarification - Timothy Clifford marries Elizabeth Madden in 1943
https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/images/marriage_returns/marriages_1943/08782/5174366.pdf

You say he emigrated to Birmingham and died aged 61 yrs - was that in Birmingham?

There is a death  in 1976, Birmingham
Timothy Matthew Clifford 61 yrs date of birth 11th September 1914

There are electoral registers 1955 - 1965
Grosmont Ave Birmingham

Timothy and Elizabeth Clifford

There is a Madden couple there for some of the years so it looks favourable.

There is no birth with that exact date but there are these
https://www.rootschat.com/links/01rot/

1914 - parents Timothy and Elizabeth (Sullivan)
There is a death for this child based on the residence Caherina.

1918 - parents John and Bridget

5th April 1918 parents Timothy and Lizzie Sullivan so this makes it more likely but caution because of the date of birth.

Is this what you have so far?

It seems very likely that both Timothys were to the same couple, Timothy Clifford and Elizabeth Sullivan.m the first one died and the second one named after him.

There is this marriage - in Killarney. Timothy is from Tralee.

Yes that’s right.
From that marriage certificate, you can see that great grandad Timothy’s father was John Clifford, Farmer.

Monica posted a 1901 census for John and Margaret Clifford with a son a Timothy. That John has an occupation of ‘Fireman on Railway engine’ so might need looking at that further.
The residence fits with other records.
Here are John and Margaret in 1911- he is now an agricultural labourer so looking quite good.
