I can’t see a birth for James Thomas  :-\

There is this family in 1871 3002/38/18

Joseph Derricot 28 yrs
Sarah J wife 22 yrs b West Bromwich
James T Derricot 1 yr b Tipton

I can’t see a birth for James T Derricot either

Yes this is the 1881 census info that I have.  The Derricott name does look promising for her son James Thomas. The notes that I have from my late Mother have James Thomas as being illegitimate, I'll look into the Derricott connection - thank you so much.

Thanks - but I can't seem to get my head around where the "Bill" connection fits in.

Very late correction (sorry!) James Bill was born Warwickshire Birmingham.
