"A special vote of thanks to Mr. Dodds, the talented manager to the Bedford Brewing and Malting Co., Limited, for the prominent share taken by him in contributing to the entertainment of the evening, was carried with acclamation." (Leigh Chronicle, Saturday 5 January 1867).

Other news clippings point to his full name being Thomas Dodds. The Brewery was on Brewery Lane, Leigh, and had been acquired by a syndicate and renamed from "Bedford Brewery" in 1866.

Any ID help much appreciated. The usual places have proven unsubstantiated so far.

What is your interest in him?  If he is an ancestor - where does he fit into your FH?

Always the possibility he was Dodd.  No 1861/1871 match in Lancashire as Dodds but there are a lot of Thomas Dodd entries
