Hi there,

From the online free to search Ryerson index, https://www.ryersonindex.org/
The newspaper, Sydney Morning Herald, 27 Jan 1969 has his death notice, he was late of West Ryde.

NSW BDM free to search online death index https://www.nsw.gov.au/topics/family-history-search
Ernest Mainwaring SWINNERTON, registered Ryde, parents given names as Joseph Round and Emily. Ref 14875/1969

The names of any children of the marriage/s should be included on the NSW BDM death registrations.   There are official transcription agents ... see the RChat's topic here :

Here is a live link to Ernest's WWI service.   All who served in the AIF were volunteers.

National Archives of Australia has free to search online facilities...  :)
https://www.naa.gov.au/  then Record Search and then enter his name in the keyword section.  There's also a Patent application from 1926 with his Dad.

Here is a live link to the NSW Government Gazette of 19 June 1970.  It is a Probate notice for Alma SWINNERTON, late of West Ryde.  It names her executors.

The National Library of Australia's online TROVE website is absolutely free and a magnificent resource.  https://trove.nla.gov.au/about   It is far more than just the digitial version of many hundreds of newspapers dating from 1803 to fairly current times.

Thanks for all the replies to my search.

It now appears that there where no children to the marriage of Ernest and Alma.
As there is no mention in either of their obituary's.
Only Ernest's sister Doris Fanning is named as both Ernest brothers Frank Douglas Swinnerton and Arthur Leslie Swinnerton had passed. Im not sure if they had issue.

many thanks,
bswinno.
