Attwood & Bannister marriage
« on: Sunday 09 May 21 10:25 BST (UK) »
My grandfathers birth certificate shows the parents of Arthur Henry Attwood (bn 26/01/1886) to be Charles Attwood and Louisa Attwood (formerly Bannister).

Arthurs birth was registered in MARTLEY, the sub-district of Leigh in the County of Worcester.

I have searched through Findmypast and FreeBMD but cannot find the marriage of Charles and Louisa.

Does anyone have any suggestions where I could find their marriage details please?

Keep in mind that not all couples actually married but lived together as husband and wife.

Did they have other children together?

From census records I have established that they had fourteen children.

I have mapped all census records for Charles from 1851 to 1911 and then his death in Hereford in 1927.

I did wonder if they did not marry

Is Louisa down as Jenkins in 1871  :-\

Louisa Jenkins 17 visitor born Leigh Worcs
Francis C W Jenkins 1 month visitor born Cradley Herefordshire

Francis Charles William Jenkins born Mar 1871 Bromyard no mothers maiden name listed

Don't suppose he could be the William from 1881?

Getting a bit complicated if she was a Jenkins - her mother I think was Emma Jenkins who married Joseph Bannister in Cradley 1871.

Emma was 45 Joseph 38 so likely she was widowed from Louisa's father and Joseph Bannister became her step father.

That might be wrong, will hold fire on that for now.
