Hi there I am doing a family tree and cannot find the name of the father of
Albert Withers who had a spouse called Sarah Alice Spriggs 1900 in Leicester

Do you have Albert & Sarah on a census to give his birth year and birth place?

The marriage was 1926. 

Looks like Albert was born 1904.

You may need the marriage certificate to confirm the name of his father but this family is a possible.

This is the marriage registration.  You will need these details should you wish to order a copy of the certificate.

Marriages are registered in quarters so the actual marriage date may not have been in September itself. 

Another thing you can do is look for Albert & Sarah on the register that was taken in 1939 which should show his date of birth to look for him on the 1911 census.

Albert Withers died 1981 Leicestershire - death reg shows birthdate as 4.12.1903 which I suspect should be 4.12.1904 given the birth entry on freebmd

To me this suggests he was born 4.12.1903. as birth was registered early 1904.
There is some confusion as the 1939 register has his d.o.b. as 4.12.1904

OK guys I have found his father Jeremiah in 1901 census but the one thing that confuses me is the PRISONER remark in the relationship to head of household? Any ideas?
