Confusing Graham/Bell line in Kirklinton/Arthuret
« on: Tuesday 11 May 21 04:53 BST (UK) »
I've had some trouble tracing this one line of my family, I'll lay out the info here

David Graham born 1805 (bap. Oct 6) in Kirklinton, married to a "Mary" born around 1810 but I have found no record of marriage so maiden name is still unknown.

David Graham's parents are John Graham and Jannet/Janet/Jane Bell (1773-1855), They married in 1791 in Arthuret where it says John is of Newfield in Kirklinton and Jannet (daughter of John Bell) is of Randalinton. I can't find any records giving vital dates for John Graham and John Bell other than this and it is very unhelpful considering how common the names are, I'm hoping the specification of Newfield/Randalinton can help trace the right people down.

Any help is appreciated!

You may have the following but it might help others?

John Graham 1851

https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:SG24-GZK

David Graham 1851

https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:SGKT-1G2

In addition to the 4 children on the 1851 census there were 2 others in 1841
Elizabeth about 1830 & Sarah 1833. Jane is not with the family in 1841.

The GRO records from Q£/1837 for John 1839 & Mary 1844, no mother maiden name noted but the most likely Isabella in 1848 notes mmn as Hill.

Only other record on family search below, second Jane born about 1836.

Jane Graham baptism 19 May 1832 died 10 Sep 1832 Kirklinton, Cumberland

Colin
Clarke, Trickett, Orton, Lawless, Norton, Detheridge, Kirby, Goodfellow, Wagstaff, Lowe, etc.

Yes I have the censuses for David but I don't think that's John, the estimated birth year is much too young and he is definitely not a widow as his wife died in 1855, I think he likely died before 1841.

Don't think there is a way to delete but this is not needed to look at anymore, ended up having the wrong people in my line, now having to re-do Graham line and having some trouble.
