Finding arrival of Thomas Hobbs b. 1813 from Sussex England

Hi, we are trying to find the arrival of Thomas Hobbs b. 1813 Sussex England, son of John & Mary Hobbs.   He married in 1836 to Harriet Rolfe in England, they had a daughter Sarah Ann Hobbs b. 1836 in England and then came to Australia, where two other children were born from around 1840 and 1842 at Narellan, NSW Australia.   His wife died in childbirth in 1842, and Thomas then remarried to Mary Croker (nee Dawson) in 1848 at Camden.   

Am not sure if this would be our man, a Thomas Hobbs was convicted at Central Criminal Court in England and sentenced to life imprisonment, for Highway Robbery, sent to Australia on board the "Lady Kennaway" on the 2nd October 1836.   But how his wife Harriett would have come to Australia is another question.   1837 Muster shows a Thomas Hobbs assigned to William Cooper at Maitland.

There is much history on Thomas Hobbs family settling at Stonequarry, Picton, where Thomas had the General Merchants Store at Camden and also a partnership in a Store at Kiandra NSW.   He died in 1862 and his wife Mary Hobbs moved all her family to Cootamundra after his sudden death.

If anyone can assist me to find Thomas and Harriet's arrival records from the UK, would really appreciate that.

Thank you judb, the second trove article, could well be our Thomas Hobbs case.   I know he had one against his partner at Kiandra, that is all.

One wonders how he came to Australia.   There was a gap in years from when Thomas and Harriett had their first child in 1836 in England, then next one in 1840 at Camden, so not sure.

What documentation do you have for BDM events in the lives of the HOBBS- ROFE  family in England and in Australia?

Could you clear up what appear to be some (slight) discrepancies, please.

I see an online tree for this family with a marriage for Thomas and Harriet at St Mary's church East Guildford Sussex.  Perhaps I'm wrong but I think  East Guildford is in Surrey.   Also you have Harriet's surname as Rolfe but the tree has it as Rofe. The tree also has the birthplace of Thomas spelt incorrectly as it seems it should be Streat.

I'm trying to see if there's any possibility of another child for Thomas and Harriet in England.

There is a photo of the gravestone of Thomas on Ancestry which states that he was 25 years in NSW at his death is 1862 thus arrival about 1837, which fits with the information you've given.

Yes, have death certificate for Thomas in Australia, 21.2.1862, Camden, Farmer and Storekekeper aged 48 years.  Born Sussex England, 25 years in NSW.  Married England Harriett Roffe 1836 and 2nd marriage to Mary late Coker 1848.

There are several online trees on Ancestry, I will correct what is on my tree, where necessary. Obviously there will be variations in the spelling of Mary Rolfe's surname, as shown in death certificate of Thomas "Harriett Roffe"

So yes everything seems to coincide with dates, when shown living in Australia for 25 years, if we could find more information on convict records in 1836 for Thomas Hobbs, but one wonders then how his wife Harriett got to Australia as well.

Muster records showing a Thomas Hobbs being assigned to Maitland could maybe give a lead. Correcting my first posting, name of ship was "Lady Kennaway"
