Timothy Haggett of Lakenham, Norfolk - will?
« on: Thursday 13 May 21 01:56 BST (UK) »
When Ann Pratt died in 1856 her will leaves the mortgage and property bequeathed to Ann and her sister Hannah by Timothy Haggett of Lakenham to Miles Edmund Cotman of Mddx.

Hannah died in 1846, so Timothy I presume died before that.

Can anyone see him?  And his will?

(Ann was born 1779)

Hi
Is it Haggett or Hoggett?
Ann's will says "a mortgage security of certain cottages lands and hereditaments situate and being at Blundeston in the County of Suffolk"

There is a burial of a Timothy Hoggett at Blundeston, 11 Feb 1846, age 88

In the 1841 census he was a gardener, not a carpenter.
But it looks like he and wife Mary had a son called Timothy baptized at Reedham, 5 Nov 1787

Timothy junior?
A baptism at Loddon, 14 Nov 1815, of Elizabeth, daughter of Timothy and Jane Hoggett. Jane being late Killington or Hillington.
Timothy a Cabinet Maker

Not sure when the younger Timothy died. Maybe there was no will.

I agree could be either.

There is a Hackett in the family too whose origin I think I have localised  but at the baptism it was recorded Haggett and then a correction to Hackett was made in the register!

I am just trying to figure out if there is a relationship between Timothy and the Pratts. (I see none so far) and also between them and Miles Cotman, and thought a will of Timothy  would help. Ann’s will seems to imply there was one…..

I am getting suggestions from ancestry (realise to take with pinch of salt) that that couple went to America.  In which case you would think there might have been a mention of that in Ann’s will
