Elijah Beazley (Beasley) 1850 document
« on: Friday 14 May 21 17:07 BST (UK) »
Hi

I have been returning to some documentation I discovered on line some time ago - and embarrassingly I can't remember where I found it and also what the context is.

I think it's an examination as part of the parish relief system as it was then.

It's the right hand page headed Elijah Beazley I am interested in.

Can anybody shed any light as to what it means and also where it might be found.

I also have a record of a hearing in 1858 for the removal of Elijah and family from the Parish of St. Leonard Shoreditch having not established a settlement in the Parish. Obviously times were hard....

This is obviously a lesson in making sure you document sources properly ....... :-[ ::)

The image is for a Poor Law document  dated 12 Feb 1850 Bethnal Green, this and several 1858 documents on Ancestry.

Ah thankyou Comberton - I must have found them when I was using the free Library access during lockdown  :)

Just proves once again that you really should document sources properly.

Many thanks
