Sorry Gadget, I thought you were talking about the old the old ones not the new ones.

I will ask the wife for 12 lashes on your behalf if there is room.

By the way, the lair number is 199. The previous entry is 198 and they are in number order.

.

I believe the wife's name was Janet Darroch. I haven't found her death yet. They were originally from Ayrshire & Glasgow and the Terregles connection has only recently been confirmed by another member of the family.

I believe they farmed chickens in the Terregles area. I know not where  :)

That’s them. I have a death for a Janet Thomson in 1977 in the ‘Stranraer Area’. Not entirely convinced this is the correct Janet

No I hadn’t seen that. Thanks for this. Smallholder would tie in with raising chickens.

Lachlan is not a direct line, one of eleven siblings. Widening the search of more recent relatives for general interest. Always good to add some colour to the basic facts.

Thanks again.

I have also come across other newspaper articles which refer to another Lachlan Thomson who I believe is his son. The story refers to 89 year old war veteran Lachlan Thomson being robbed of £800 pounds in 2016. Money was raised in the community for him.
