Margaret Knowles Widow
« on: Saturday 15 May 21 19:07 BST (UK) »
I cant seem to find Margarets maiden name.
She marries William Hanson, 1 Sep 1783 Birmingham. 'William Hanson, Widower, of this parish and Margaret Knowles, Widow, of this parish'

William Hanson dies Jan 1794 Coventry, Warwickshire.
Margaret then goes on to marry Thomas Saddington, July 1794 Coventry.
Margaret dies 1840 Foxton, Leicestershire. aged 80 with a birthdate of 1760.

On one baptism her name is given as 'Martha'.

I cant seem to find a prior Knowles marriage for Margaret, so I can know her maiden name.

Any help appreciated.

There's one in Altham Lancs if that's not too way off  :-\

13 Feb 1777

Margaret Hindle

William Knowls

If your M was born 1760 and married W Hanson in 1783 at 23 she must have been widowed young so a short first marriage.

Its possible as a William Knowles was buried 11 Sep 1778 Birmingham. Although the distance does make me a bit hesitant.
