Alfred and Frances Dates photograph please

Thoughts on the date of this photo please.

Also, people's thoughts on the ages and/or age gap of the two
We're not sure who they are but they were in with a collection of family photos and knowing the time period and a guess at their ages might offer a clue.

My first thought was 1880's & then I noticed the sitting man
has a separate button-hole for his watch chain which was a
late decade innovation.
So late 1880's-1890's.
If you have this can we see the back as this might narrow the date.
As for ages I would suggest the one sitting is around 20 & the other around 18.

Sadly no, I don't have the original. What I have is a copy with my aunt's "might this be" annotation on the back, and from what I do know it cannot be those people (because one of them died as an infant).

A round about 1890 helps a great deal, thank you.
