I wonder if anyone can help find some more detailed information from the Parish and other registers on the family of Elizabeth Pelham (born c. 1689) who married 1st. st Trinity Church, Newport, Rhode Island on 26 June 1711, John Goodson, and 2nd., Trinity Church, Newport, Rhode Island 11 November 1719,Captain Peter Coggeshall (1685-1748).

She had at least one known child Penelope Goodman from her 1st marr. who marr. Trinity Church, Newport 23 December 1739 a Captain Isaac Stelle (1714-4 May 1763). They had at least 2 children Lydia (bap. 1742) and Christian (bap. 1744, who marr. John Banister).

Elizabeth had at least 4 children from the 2nd Coggeshall marriage - Elizabeth 1721, Amy 1722, Freelove 1724 & Edward 1728-9.

If anyone can fill any of the gaps in the above info I'd be very grateful. As residents of Newport, Rhode Island and the district I would imagine some more information could be available from the Trinity Church baptisms, marriages and burials.

I would ideally like some more info on Elizabeth's baptism and burial, details on Penelope Goodman and if she had any other Goodman siblings. Also details of Penelope's children and if she had any more 'Stelle children' and if a death/burial date can be found for her and her children - There is reference to a 'widow Stelle' in 1774. Also what happened to John Goodman (died 1711-19).

Any help much appreciated.

Perhaps the Newport Historical Society would be helpful, although that may mean a subscription.

Think that's Ed's neck of the woods so he may be able to assist/point you in a direction.
