Looking for the parish of Dorstone in 1911
« on: Monday 17 May 21 17:12 BST (UK) »
I am trying to find some people who I know are alive in 1911. I have searched by name ( every possible spelling!) but have now decided to look through the census at the whole of the parish where they have lived for previous 40 years. This is my problem - I can't find the parish on Ancestry.
I went to:
Browse this collection then

Residence County ( I  choose Herefordshire)

Herefordshire

Civil Parish ( I looked for Dorstone but I can't find it)

I have checked in previous census and Dorstone is a parish there so could it have changed its name or maybe been joined with a neighbouring parish?

Try searching Alice Catherine Andrews bn c1875 Dorstone.

ADDED You need to be searching the Wales census for 1911

Here it is on familysearch

Ahah! Thankyou - I can now see it is listed under Breckonshire. Using your lady's name got me straight there. Hopefully I can now find my people.
