Changing the time shown on posts to NZ time
« on: Tuesday 18 May 21 10:50 BST (UK) »
I find it confusing/irritating to have UK, ie BST I presume, time shown on the posts as the time they are posted.

Do fellow southern hemisphere posters know a way of changing the time to reflect local times please?

I have looked for a settings button but cannot find one.

I suspect that you can’t, the website needs only one time reference.

I suggest that you contact Trystan and ask.

Hi to all in NZ - I don't think I've ever been on this bit of the forum before.

I've found a setting relating to this in my Profile - click Profile in the brown menu bar at the top of any page, then any of the sub-items. Near the top of the next page there's a link to Modify Profile - then in the dropdown menu click Look and Layout.

The second item here is Time Offset, and it looks as though you can make the change manually. However, there's also a link to Auto Detect, which might use something like your IP address to do it all for you. I can't try this as I'm in the UK, so over to you.

Well that seems to work arthurk!
Well done.

If you click 'auto detect' it does just that - put in the same number of hours difference that I would have done manually.

Never thought about doing changing the time before.

Hooray hooray...even using the 24 hour clock (AM/PM might have been too complicated) and having it show NZ time is great.  Thank you.   :)
