Torleif Lund

Torleif Lund dies in Southampton in March qr. 1979, with a birth date of 21/11/1920. 

He should be the Marine Superintendent with Thoreson Car Ferries if he is the father of a Lund who marries in Southampton in 1969. She is described as his only daughter. Guests travel from Norway to attend.

Can anyone see a birth (or wedding) for him?

Was his daughter born in the UK?
Do you have her birth certificate?

No birth in this country that I can see for her.

I have her parents as Mr & Mrs T Lund, so it is a complete guess that the death is his, but a nice coincidence, as birth 1920, marriage about 1944, daughter born 1947, her marriage 1969.

So I just wondered if a birth to match that death could be seen anywhere in Norway, or elsewhere.

Her marriage certificate should give more information about her father.
I suspect she was born in Norway.
Do you know whether she married again? There's a marriage registered in the September quarter of 1977 in Bideford regsitration district which could possibly be hers.
On second thoughts, probably not. The daughter was still on the electoral register under the 1969 marriage name, living in Southampton in 2005-2006.

I agree that her marriage certificate will give more information on her father, but it might just confirm I have the correct man, or not.  If he is the correct person then I do have a birth date for him, which is a lot more than for someone with a different name.
The question still remains, is there an obvious birth in Norway for Torleif Lund born 1920.

Additionally, Mr Lund is referred to on a google search as a 'former Thoresen car ferries boss' without confirming his name.

Do not know his wife (and not having any luck with history of Thoresen ferry company) but no daughter with correct name.  Thanks for your input, though.

No, I am not in contact with them. 
I am just interested in Norwegian birth, marriage and death records.
