Henry White 1824
« on: Tuesday 18 May 21 15:16 BST (UK) »
Still trying to sort out my White ancestors, and their surname is not helping! This is what I do know; Richard White and Ann Hart's son ( I am aware of their other children, but trying to sort out this one) Henry White baptised 18/12/1848 Lincoln. I have a marriage for HW marrying a Mary Lancaster 21/3/1848 with father Richard White, so maybe this is enough for this to be correct. The good news is Henry was a Dentist, so better to research than an Ag Lab. I think Henry and Mary may have had a son John bap. 29/9/1850, who may have died the following year. 10 years later a son Thomas Harry 18/11/1859-he was a Dental Surgeon, and appears to have married Rebecca, and on the 1911 census it states no children, so end of the line on that one. I don't know if Henry/Mary were still alive in 1911, but have had no luck with finding a 1911 census with them on to see how many children they had, or deaths for either of them. Maybe fresh eyes can help.
Regards.

That marriage gives Henry's occupation as a Joiner, his father Richard was a Hair Dresser

Richard was a Hairdresser, so that looks good. Not sure about a joiner being much practice for a Dentist though.

The 1898 marriage for Thomas Harry states that his father Henry was deceased.

Thanks for that. I think I picked up that Henry was a Dentist on the 1851 census, so will need to revisit. If the other son did die in infancy then this is the end of the line for this family.

He was a Cabinet Maker in 1851, Marys sister was with them.  I hate to think where he did his dental training, maybe he was used to pulling nails from wood  ;D
