This is where the date 18 June 1863 Motherwell  must come from - gives a father as John Watterson

This one is tempting but I can't read which parish in Co Londonderry it is. Hugh;s occupation looks a little like coalminer(as Eliza's birth cert)  and there is an initial before the Martin

https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/images/marriage_returns/marriages_1864/11626/8280401.pdf

I'll see if I can get it more clear.

The parish is Lower Cumber, townland there is Ervey.

It is an interesting find, especially with those Gallagher brothers as witnesses.  That might link Jane to Leonard Watterson rather than John ?  Another conundrum !!

Hughs father on that millennium file was listed as  Father George Leadley Martin - Mother Janet Martin Osborne.
There was a Millennium entry for Jane but the death date it gave was really wide of the mark so information is not accurate on this one.

Scotlands people did not show a  marriage in Motherwell 18 June 1863 for Hugh Martin and Jane.
The spelling of there first born son Allan is the same as it was for a brother of Hugh.

Confirmation they were married 18 June 1863 just doesn't say where ?  Perhaps it was Motherwell after all. ?
