Date: Ethel Annie Larkin and Katherine Isobel Kavanaugh (half sisters) - Montana

These are the daughters of my Great Aunt, Honora Driscoll Kavanaugh Larkin. Ethel, on the left, was born in 1898, Kate, on the right, was born in 1882. My guess for a date is 1905-06. The photograph was emailed to me, no markings on front or back. What was the name for this style of dress? Thanks in advance for your help.

I would suggest a date of around 1909/10 or there about. Lovely photo.

The style of bodice was commonly called a pigeon-breast.

Thank you for your responses and to Ian for the repair. Kate was married in October 1908, so perhaps a photo taken right before her marriage. MEK

You'll notice she has her left hand behind her back, a common
pose for unmarried women.
Had she have been married it would be on display.
So you're probably right.
