Windows 21H1 has arrived
« on: Friday 21 May 21 22:50 BST (UK) »
The latest big update to Windows 10 has now been released. Windows users should get themselves ready for a large download and to spend a couple of hours with their machines unproductive.

Afterwards, you'll probably not notice a lot of difference. Nearly everything is in the same place as before; the scheme to reorganise Windows Accessories, Tools and System appears to have not gone through in this build.

My laptop is set to download updates overnight, it's easier that way.

From what I've read it's a smaller update than the usual Spring update.

Fewer changes, yes. Same length of time installing.

And, yes, there are already patches for it, which on some machines will demand another reboot.

It fails to install on my PC which is less than 1 year old and I keep updated, it gives me an error which apparently means it is trying to install a driver which I already have or is incompatible with my hardware. Looks like I will have to wait for Microsoft to issue an update to the update.
