Wells asylum ancestors records
« on: Saturday 22 May 21 10:47 BST (UK) »
Hi my great grandmother Florence Emily Coyne (maiden name Bending) born abt 1880 Bideford is known to have been resident at Wells asylum (mendip hospital)
Date of admission unknown but she was buried in the cemetery there on the 16th of February 1934. ( no headstone)
As I understand it medical records of inpatients are not accessible to the public. How else could I go about finding out about her admission and medical records during her stay here?

Thank you

You have your answer in what you have written - "medical records are not accessible to the public"

Who did she marry & when as there is no Bending/Coyne marriage but there are 2 births in 1916 & 1917 which would suggest she was not in the asylum at that time

Hi she married a Micheal coyne in Ireland I cant recall the date but it was before 1910 as that was when my grandfather was born. She was in Ireland at the time of the 1911 census. And a few years after that she can be found in Devon.
