Try the National Records of Scotland https://www.nrscotland.gov.uk/ or Dumfries and Galloway Archives https://www.dumgal.gov.uk/article/15308/Local-archives

However there is normally a 100-year closure on Health Board archives so you may not be allowed to look at anything as recent as the 1950s.
Never trust anything you find online (especially submitted trees and transcriptions on Ancestry, MyHeritage, FindMyPast and other commercial web sites) unless it's an image of an original document - and even then be wary because errors can and do occur.

Many thanks
I’m having trouble with the Dumfries and Galloway sites as every time I click on searching records online the page either won’t open or displays an error message saying Not Found.

Hmmm. There does seem to be a problem with clicking through to other pages on the site.

Suggest you contact them as listed on the page that is reachable:

    Call 01387 260285
    Email libarchive@dumgal.gov.uk

The library is Dumfries is open for limited hours at the moment. You may not be able to get an answer on the phone. I enquired about the archives last Friday. These remain closed and they think it could reopen in June but that isn't definite. Even if it reopens, I gather that the stock has been move elsewhere and you would need to know exactly what you want for them to find it. There are other issues about people handling the material, so there may be conditions on this.
