Aha!
Here's the explanation
Transcript of baptisms at Christchurch Southwark
18 April 1821
Edward, son of Susan Sherring by Emanuel Isaac Samuels
Abode Workhouse
Occupation Lapidary
https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:3Q9M-CSFX-FXP5

So even if it is the right marriage in 1824 :-\, Edward does not really seem to be a son of a Thomas Trinder.

Maybe they were just having children before they got married. I assume that the settlement record you posted confirms that George Richard (b.1812) is a son from the same family; I can't quite read it. I think we're dealing with a case of Thomas Trinder 'adopting' his wife's infant son, who may have been born out of wedlock, and so received his surname. It also says that Edward was born 'by' Emmanuel Samuels, not in the usual married couple format, suggesting illegitimacy. That begs the question as to George Richard, given that he was born before the wedding.
Ladyhawk; I think that's the wrong family

It's not your Thomas, but Ladyhawk may well have found Thomas Trinder the baker and Susan, nee Sherring in 1861!
Sherring sounds like it might be a Norfolk name!
With George who married Caroline being born, as you say, so far back, it really looks as if the 1824 marriage does not relate to your family :(

I've found George Richard's birth record:
His mother's name seems to be 'Martha'

Excellent finds by both of you, well done!
The Lying-In Hospital is where Thomas was baptized in 1787, as found by Philip at the beginning.
