Hi 🙋🏼‍♀️

Yes I did look at the site, and I’ll look again... I found what you found (eventually 🤦🏼‍♀️) but only because I put it the info you gave me.

I’ll see if I can find their graves.

Someone on Ancestry has Benjamin’s father as Isaac, but I don’t know where that information came from.

Many many thanks for your help! Selby

Bookbox....

Do you know what Akta means please?  I’ve just looked at Morris Schneider and his name was Morris Mendel Schneider, born 1889. So I think the man you found was Morris! Thank you again! Selby

It's just the entry number (or registration number) in that particular register.
Glad it looks like the right man.

Sure it is not Aka, also known as?  or is this is Russian?

It's the entry reference from Jewish Record Indexing Poland. It enables us to find it in the register. Please see reply #7 above.

I think the poster was wondering what AKTA was short for say, something like, Aktuel tafelnummer?? As a wild guess?

Now I am curious.

It's not an abbreviation. In my Polish dictionary, akta is defined as 'records, files, documents'.
