Toxteth Park Cemetery
« on: Tuesday 25 May 21 10:43 BST (UK) »
I am wondering if anyone visits Toxteth Park cemetery and would be happy to take a photo of two grave plots for me.
In section 4/grave 37 are buried: Jane Warren buried Jan 1875, Roch Rupniewski buried Dec 1876 and Jane Ann Goldie Warren buried April 1881.
I believe there should be a headstone/plaque.
In section 12/grave 290 is Harriet Duriez (née Warren) buried March 1883.
As there are 9 other burials in the same plot (including two from the local workhouse) this may be an unmarked grave.
Any help would be much appreciated.

There are TWO section 4
C of E section 4
General section 4 - quote -Baptists, Non Conformists, Weslyans, etc are usually
interred in The General Sections. - UN-CONSECRATED PART
Numbered Sections "1 to 5"

I live 5 miles away and I can tell you Toxteth Cemetery is HUGE .
There is a possibility I will be in the area Saturday morning - if so I will call in - in the meantime can you try and find which section 4 Jane /Roch / Jane are in
if it is raining I will postpone the visit  :)
ADDED
very interesting that Harriet and Jane Warren were born in Jersey - and Geneanet has Roch b 1804 in France -
was Harriet and Janes dad - Levi Henry Warren - ?...if so - possibly Jewish - which will mean that section 4 grave will be General Section 4 ??

Hi there,
I have looked at my records.   Both Section 4/grave 37 and Section 12/290 are in the Church of England section.
The widow Jane Warren was born Jeanne Roissier in Jersey.  She was married to Thomas Hills Warren, Lieut R.N, though he died in Jan 1832.  He is the father of Jane Ann Goldie and Harriet (his second marrriage).
Roch Rupniewski was born in Poland, a particpant of the November Uprising.  He became an exile in Jersey (one of many) and later England.    He lived with Jane and her daughters for many years.
Any help you can provide will be much appreciated.   I understand the vagaries of the British weather; it has been a very wet month for you.
Many thanks,
Colleen

Hello Garstonite,
A volunteer from Find-a-Grave went to Toxteth Park cemetery this morning.  Section 4, Grave 37 is a private grave but there is no headstone.   Section 12,grave 290 is a public grave but there is no headstone for Harriet.
With the time difference(I live in Brisbane) I wanted to let you know straightaway so you didnt waste time on your Saturday.
Thank you for your interest and offer to help.
Many thanks,
Colleen
