Rose Lloyd King of Watford
« on: Wednesday 26 May 21 11:39 BST (UK) »
Looking for the death/burial and Will (if she made one) of Rose Lloyd King b.12-6-1893 in Lambeth. Name was also spelt Rose Lloyd-King in newspapers. She attended the Guildhall School of Music and became a teacher of music, elocutions and drama and produced plays.

Lived in Watford most of her life with parents Arthur and Alice King. Rose was well known in Watford. In 1939 was living in Chorleywood. Never married as far as I know and no children. Last mentioned in 1944 newspaper in Sussex as adjudicator for the Federation of Townswomen Guild at Brighton Pavilion.

At the Watford festival various competitions are held and a cup called the 'Rose Lloyd King' cup is presented to the speech and drama winner.

I did find a death of a Rose L King age 68 reg Jun 1960 Camberwell. Checked the burial and it turned out to be Rose Louise King.
Any help or clues appreciated.

If she made a will it should appear on the Probate index, copies available from them for £1.50

Hi rosie99, I will check out the Wills.
Hi comberton, I will check those newspapers out shortly. They may not have been there when I last checked the archive.
I'm getting closer.....Thank you both.
