For Garstonite
I'm talking about Napoleon III the nephew of the Waterloo Napoleon. There's a good entry in Wikipedia about Napoleon III.

Thank you for that. Will be asking if a French speaking member of the family is able to help us poor only speaking English people.

Hi Norman

I'm French speaking and I tried to find some census entries yesterday, but the site was too slowly, I will try it again later. His birth record mentions a street name, so it should be easy to find the family in the census.

Edit: His birth record can be found under naissances 1847 on page 180.
I looked at the 1851 census and didn't find them at the rue du Fresnoy.

Regards
Svenja

Hello,

here's the birth:
https://archivesdepartementales.lenord.fr/ark:/33518/csjmf4k560rv/b8b6d087-554f-4d90-a5ca-4d04cda3879c

I read REUFFTART for the mother's name.

I searched in the decennal tables , found no other children called Vanmeulbrouck from 1833 to 1853.Could not find a marriage either , or any deaths in Roubaix.
I'll try again with a larger spam.

I found some Vandemeulbrouck.

I found Jules Alphonse's birth in the tables written Vanmelebrouck :

I suggest Jules's parents have married in Belgium.

The name could also be written Vanmeulebrouck.

Census 1906 is available on line at Archives departementales du Nord.
The other years  must  be consulted in Roubaix at the city library.

Hi

Most of the documents for which you need a Premium access on geneanet are available for free either on the relevant archive's website or on familysearch.

I already mentioned the link to the census records which are available online on the website of the city library. I already looked at the 1851 census and didn't find them at the rue du Fresnoy.
In 1846 census there are some Vandemeulebrouk at the rue du Fresnoy 33 on page 881.

By the way there is a list of the street names on the first page of each census, so you can see on which pages you can find the entries for a certain street.

The death record in of Anne-Marie Reuftart in 1848 says she was born in Renaix (officially known as Ronse in Dutch) in Belgium.

I think this is her birth record:

https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:939F-PZ98-HR?i=384&wc=Q82R-CNF%3A1068734902%2C1068835702&cc=2138513

(on page 385)

Anne Marie born 8th September 1808 in Renaix
daughter of Jean François Ruyffelaere, journalier (journeyman), aged 33 years old, born and living in Renaix; and of Elizabeth Stau...? from Luxembourg. Unsure about the surname but it seems from other records to be Staun or Staut?

---

Her mother's death, under the name Elisabeth Staun, was recorded on 9th April 1845 in Renaix. Would you like more details? She was already a widow, but haven't located her husband's death yet.
