Hi,

I am looking for information regarding some relatives who emigrated to Canada probably in the 1930s 40s. not sure all deceased now for sure.

My wife's side off the family she had a son who died as far as we understand having fallen into a river

Shan Hughes (nee Pritchard) from Anglesey Wales born 1914 we think, her son John Pritchard (hughes) died we think in about 1975. We think he was born abt 1930.
Shan married a Richard Hughes.

that's about all we have at the moment.

Any help or suggestions for searching appreciated

Not enough to go on.
Why don't you start by looking for "Shan's" birth registration based on her parents?
It's apparently not her official first name, as none appear in the birth registrations

Husband/wife are registered separately.

So "Shan" was not her birth name, therefore any official documents (passports, death etc.) should be under Lizzie.

If this is the correct parents,  they weren't married until 1925 - ??

Of course the one born in 1915 isn't correct but I used the OP's date to prove a point a 10 year old doesn't get married.

Hughes and Pritchard are both very common names in Wales, so we may not have identified the correct marriage.

But I am confused what we are looking for?  Was the son born around 1930 a Pritchard or a Hughes?  Was he the one who emigrated to Canada or did the parents as well?

The marriage record for the couple married in 1925 gives her name as Lizzie Ann Pritchard, aged 28, of High Street, Llannerchymedd, daughter of William, and his name as Richard Williams Hughes, aged 31, a bachelor, address as the Old Post Office, Bagiller(?), a silk spinner, son of Hugh; dated November 18, 1925.
