Another possibility is that James/simon Mullins was NOT the father but named as such so the two children would appear to have same father ! If Bridget was passing as married she'd have to give his name and a fictitious address. The DNA results may reveal the truth .

Caroline the DNA will connect you to other MULLEN  descendants IF  they have tested

Then it's a lot of work to connect the dots using spouses surnames
Triangulation of results etc .the more members of the family who test the better the results especially if you can get elders to test .

Thank you Bridgid. Unfortunately my parents won't test, they think all this dna stuff is a hoax even though I've explained it all to them. But they're old school, they still dont agree with mobiles lol x

I have done my DNA but absolutely nothing has come up that I can figure out. Well to be honest I dont understand it x

Thats a shame . Have you linked your results to your tree . ?
How distant are your matches .?
If you cant see anyone with same surnames try a place name search.

New matches come in all the time so it might be a waiting game .
