Date please for group photograph of a Ladies Meeting
« on: Saturday 29 May 21 09:02 BST (UK) »
I would welcome opinions on the date of this group photograph, please.

Sadly I have no information about it whatsoever, and this is a scan of the original.

There is a woman in the back row who appears to be wearing some sort of slouch hat such as those worn by the Anzacs.

Any help most appreciated.

It looks WW1 to me.

Some of the hats suggest 1915-ish but I'd not like to be that specific, so I'll stick with the war period.

Those large brimmed hats were a late war style, so 1917-20ish.
Possibly WI.

The woman standing on the far right appears to be wearing a short skirt.  So could be very early 1920s.

There are Union Flags in the background and no men in the photo, could this represent the end of WW1 maybe. I have lightened it a bit to bring out more detail Jen.

Thanks Carol.  :) I wondered if it might be an end of war celebration.

The woman in the slouch hat, back row, fascinates me.

I thought one or two of them had a suffragette look about them, the sulky lady on the front row looks like she would rather be elsewhere, or maybe it's because she stands to lose her male dominated job now the boys are coming home  ;D
